These terms govern use of the Vigil macOS app by Broschat Studios (Robin Broschat). By installing or using the app, you accept these terms.
Scope
These terms apply to the Vigil app provided by Broschat Studios, Robin Broschat, Benzinoring 18, 67657 Kaiserslautern, Germany. Vigil is currently distributed exclusively via Lemon Squeezy. Other sales channels would be communicated separately.
Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Vigil on your Mac devices under these terms. The app remains our intellectual property. Activation uses a licence key purchased via Lemon Squeezy that you enter in the app; it is stored locally in the macOS Keychain and can be active on up to 3 Mac devices at the same time. Vigil then automatically re-checks the licence online at regular intervals; without an internet connection, the app remains usable for a limited grace period.
Purchase via Lemon Squeezy
Purchases via Lemon Squeezy are a one-time purchase (no subscription required by us). Lemon Squeezy acts as merchant of record for checkout; payment is processed via Lemon Squeezy / Stripe. After purchase you typically receive a licence key and access to your order (e.g. via Lemon My Orders). Use of the app requires compliance with these terms and, where applicable, licence activation in the app.
Automatic updates
By default, Vigil automatically checks for new versions by regularly contacting our own update server. You can also trigger a manual check at any time in Settings. We are under no obligation to provide updates indefinitely or for every macOS version; features and compatibility may change with updates.
Restrictions
You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, rent, resell or use Vigil for unlawful purposes. You are responsible for your blocklist and app configuration. Browser automation requires your explicit permission in macOS Privacy & Security settings (Automation/TCC).
Disclaimer
Vigil is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for damages from use, including lost tab contents or unsaved input. Vigil is a self-control tool and does not replace medical treatment. We do not guarantee compatibility with all browsers or macOS versions (e.g. Firefox, future browser updates). Digital content & withdrawal (EU)
Consumers in the EU generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts. Vigil is supplied as digital content immediately after purchase (a licence key or download link). Under § 356(5) of the German Civil Code (BGB) (implementing Art. 16(m) of EU Directive 2011/83/EU), this right of withdrawal expires early once (1) you have expressly agreed that supply may begin before the withdrawal period ends, (2) you have acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal, and (3) supply has actually begun. You give this consent and acknowledgment during checkout with our payment processor Lemon Squeezy, whose Buyer Terms contain exactly this declaration; you then receive an order confirmation by email as a durable record. From the moment your licence key or download link is provided, there is therefore no right of withdrawal. Until that point, the statutory right of withdrawal applies unchanged. Refund requests outside the right of withdrawal are reviewed by Lemon Squeezy at their discretion under their Buyer Terms; please contact Lemon Squeezy or us and we will forward your request.

Applicable law
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection rules in your country of residence in the EU remain unaffected.
